How did you come to CBC?

I had been in ministry and was a youth pastor and have been working in churches since high school. I left the ministry from burn-out and went back to school and needed to find a church that was different and had life, not religious politics and "churchy" people. I wanted to blend in with others like myself and came to CBC, and my wife began teaching here at the school. You only have one life to live! Why not learn how to enjoy it.

What is your role at CBC?

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) who strongly believes in helping individuals and/or families learn to deal with life in a more positive and meaningful way. I have worked for many years with couples, families, children, adolescents, and individuals. I have experience in dealing with anxiety, depression, anger, family issues, adolescent acting out behavior, parenting and marital/pre-marital or dating issues and relationship coaching. I love that the CARE Dept. is a mental health type clinic within a church. We are raising the bar for churches and are on the cutting edge and represent that of a spiritual hospital.

What is the best part about your role?

I get to work with people and be a part of their journey. I get to help them find out who God has created them to be, and help them be true to themselves and learn to be open, honest, and transparent without having to live with FEAR. I love what I do and I love that God has allowed me to be a part of so many peoples' stories and their testimonies!

If you were a color, what color would you be?

Black. I love the dark side of people and what others may think is scary or weird. Black resembles the best!

What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years?

iPhone ... is that a computer in your pocket?

What is your favorite place on the earth?

At home with my kids and my wife having fun!  Seriously.

What makes you laugh?

When I work with people and they are finally honest and share about their marriage or life and find out that it is not as big of a deal as they thought, and learn that it is normal and that there are others who have the exact problem or issues. Never be ashamed of your story or your testimony!!

What makes you cry?

People who are afraid to come to therapy or talk to a counselor! Wow, really ... they would rather keep trying to do it their way. FEAR.

If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?

"Amazing Race." I think my wife and I would do good together on that show and people could see us in a different light. I could"n't eat all the gross food stuff; my wife would have to man up and do it.
