Deena Stirling, Children's Minister
Family Info:
I am married to my adventurous husband, Tom, for 36 years. We have two grown children who are still a very important part of our lives.
How did you come to CBC?
Tom and I found CBC in 1976 when it was just a Bible study. We have loved and been a part of this church for 33 years.
What is your role at CBC?
I plan and write curriculum for our services and camps; oversee and train our volunteer teachers and staff; have fun with and teach our children every Sunday; minister to the children and families of our church.
What is the best part about your role?
The best part of my job is seeing the lives of children touched by God's Holy Spirit! This happens extraordinarily at Vacation Bible School and Indian Village each summer.
If you were a color, what color would you be?
Purple or violet because it is royal color-- jacaranda trees are that color--and I think heaven will have a lot of purple around!
What do you count as the greatest invention of the last 100 years?
Tivo or DVr---I can record my dance shows and watch them whenever I want, fast forwarding the commercials!
What is your favorite place on the earth?
I love Kauai---but only for vacation--almost everyone I love is in Capo Beach or surrounding areas.
What makes you laugh?
Kids say the darndest things---and it is usually at Sunday school or camp.
What makes you cry?
The closeness of God and the thought of ever having to leave my family here on earth.
If you could be on any reality television show, which one would it be?
Dancing with the Stars---with a much younger body!
